Stop running from God

Happy Monday

Hi friend ♡ I'm glad you're still alive and well. Get your bible and journal out because its about to get real today. Today's newsletter is on the topic of sin.

Whenever we sin, we feel ashamed and guilty, which makes us run away from God because we believe that we have committed the biggest sin and that it is unforgivable. The truth is that sin does separate us from God. We first see this in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned against God by eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen 3:6-7). Which God clearly told them not to eat from, it was literally the only tree whose fruit, they were instructed not to eat. When they did this, sin entered the world and from there everyone who was born into the world was born a sinner. Because of this and our sinful nature we have been separated from God from birth. From the Old Testament up to the Gospels which is the Good News about Jesus Christ, God has been reconciling His people back to Him. Ever since sin entered the world, God did not abandon His people, He has been drawing them to Himself and sending the prophets to tell them to return to Him. Because we are sinners and we have all sinned against a holy God, we are all subject to God's judgement which deserves eternal death. But then there's GOOD NEWS!! Check this; "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16 To take it a little further, Romans 5:8-9 says "But God showed his great love for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's condemnation." Through what Jesus did on the cross, which was to die for our sins, we can be saved from the righteous judgement of God by believing and trusting in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. That, is Good News indeed. If you have sinned against God, repent and ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you. Remember, repentance is not just saying you're sorry, it's a turning away from sin and turning to God. Like the prodigal son who went back to his father after leaving home and living a rebellious life, go back to your Father. God is holding His arms wide open for you to come back to you. So stop running from Him and run to Him, even if you fall back into that sin again. Journal prompts 1. Have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? 2. What do you need to repent from? Pray and repent and return to God. He loves you but He hates sin.
